Personality: At first glance, Hide comes off to be quite the calm, cool and calculated type that just has that laidback aura to him, what with approaching both boys and girls to his liking with a sense that makes him pretty cool, as his peers say with his gentle, impassive smile and strange blue eyes. Around friends, Hide is always the man to have around to keep a calm and peaceful atmosphere once tension begins to break out due to his penchant for trying to persuade people calmly without as so much as losing as patience.
Hide losing his patience is something quite rare as it only happens once in a rare blue moon in which he gets irrevocably violent and curses up a deadly, venomous storm. Sometimes, he's only prone to this whenever he's having a shitty day amongst shitty days to really make him snap but most of the time, you'll see Hide take things at one step at a time at his own pace.
Another side of him is his devious side, where Hide likes to play quite the devious little horny devil to attract prey on all sides to his court using any tactic he can devise. Most times, he likes to pick on the males since he perfers them better but that doesn't mean Hide won't be flirtatious and cunning with a few girls either, which makes nobody safe.

Distinguishing Marks: As much as he doesn't seem to look like it, Hide's got his fair share of scars on his flawless seeming skin. One scar is a small diagonal slash in which he had gotten into a fight when he had been younger to protect one of his friends but the other had a knife in which it caught deeply into the inside of his wrist. Currently, it is practically invisible but one can make out the outline if seen more up-close.
A more prominent scar shown on Hide's figure would be a deep X-shaped scar on the inside of his arm from when he had made a promise to his mother to always be there when she had needed him most from when his father had died, leaving her defenseless as she had been a rather timid woman and upon making his promise to be the man to take care of her, Hide had sliced his arm in one diagonal slash. But upon his mother's deathbed, he had allowed her to finally seal the deal as she had sliced another wound over the first one to create the deep-looking X-shaped scar that he wears on the inside of his arm.
Hide also has on another pair of scars that're invisible to the naked eye, which are a pair of lip ring holes that had closed but the marks still are there once seen close enough. He plans on wearing snakebites or a lip ring soon enough. He also adorns two piercings on each ear.
Self Perception: When it comes to describing himself, Hide always comes out with modest answers since he really take much pride in flaunting or highlighting his best attributes within his personality. But one thing he really can't lie about is his carefree, laidback take on life though despite the many hardships and tests he has gone through which would normally embitter someone on the inside or at least make them a little bitchy once in a while.
Another thing about Hide is how random he tends to be amidst conversation or sometimes on his own on the street since he believes that life is something you go through only once, and suggests to live it up with as much memorable things as possible.
Appearance: Standing at a considerable height of 5'9 with an everchanging hair color and style and a set of strange blue eyes whose color seems to shift hues, Hide seems to look into his early twenties with his laidback, sexy appearance but don't let the eyes fool you, though. This guy's practically still a teenager, strapped on with a sharp wit and tongue he rarely likes to use.
Ever since he had been 15, Hide has always been into the style of cutting and growing his hair to alternate different styles and dyes as a form of guise when really, he likes to consider it "like changing clothes every once in a while instead of wearing the same old boring thing". Because of his strange tastes, he would always be the pinpointed target of many who found him to be extremely weird and would always pick on him for his androgynous figure and style. His current hairstyle is a dark brown layered cut (see header).
The color of Hide's skin is also another factor since it has a nice creamy-ivory glow that always seems to be unblemished and clean even when he's always fighting or getting scratched up in certain accidents but the only two things to ever mar his skin are the two scars he had acquired. One thing that people really love about him are the color of his eyes which are percieved to be weird because of his more dominant Japanese facial features, but in turn are smoothed by his recessive English genes. Hide's eyes always change color depending on his environment which tend to shift to a vivid electric blue to a deep and dark icy arctic blue.

History: Born and raised within the Kinki region of Osaka, Japan, Hideyuki Valentine was the only son belonging to a couple who then made a living all the way to the capital, Tokyo to gain a better living. His father, Gabriel Valentine had come to Japan on a military transfer but only to fall in love with the timid yet lovely Kurenai who'd soon become Hide's mother as he had courted throughout his time within the Land of the Rising Sun.
Soon after 2 years of being together, Gabriel had married Kurenai to conceive Hideyuki and live within Osaka where until Hide had turned 8, they had moved to Tokyo for a better living, being that Gabriel had left his military position for something for less. That being said, he had settled within working for an industrial office and Kurenai as a housewife. Growing up, Hide was always a quiet, obedient child who never made a fuss nor yelled to have his way, making him the favored child of teachers all throughout his school years.
But it hadn't been until Hide had been 15 that Gabriel had died of a car accident to leave Kurenai behind. During that time, Hide had also gone through a temporary change within changing his look daily as a symbol of rebelling against his old self and forget it ever happened. Attached to him very dearly, Kurenai had gone into a deep hysteria where one day while mourning her loss in a deep depression, she had swiped a broken plate at Hide who had tried to calm her down. Realizing she had done, Kurenai lost it as she hugged and apologized to her son as he did not mind the bleeding gash on the corner of his eye. She had considered Hide as a reminder of her husband through the color of his eyes and some remnants of his facial features within Hide's. Knowing how dearly his mother held his father to heart even within death, Hide decided to become the man in her life as her protector and son all in the same while making his promise final by swearing upon a gash he had sliced on his arm.
Several years had passed and at the age of 17, Hide had remained with Kurenai for a good long time through her spastic bouts and nightmares with a calm composure until she had come unto her deathbed. Her health had been in shambles and left her weak but even in the end of their time, Hide had stuck by his mother's side and completed the end of his promise by letting her slice open another wound on top of the other gash he had made the first time; in which it had created the X-shaped scar he now wears. With both parents gone and buried back home in his native Osaka, Hide moved to New York to rebegin at the age of 18 on his own and to never forget that life has its memories and trials. And that this was a new beginning. A new chapter set aside from the old.
